Who will be the next PM of India ?
The two main political alliances - UPA led by Congress and NDA led by BJP - have announced their Prime Ministerial candidates. NDA has declared L K Advani as it’s prime ministerial candidate, while Sonia Gandhi has hinted that Manmohan Singh would continue as the PM should the UPA win the coming Lok Sabha elections.
However, noises have started coming from both Congress and BJP on the possibility of different PM candidates. Leaders in Congress, like Pranab Mukherjee, have been touting Sonia Gandhi’s son, Rahul Gandhi, as the next PM .

Former Vice-President and BJP leader Bhairon Singh Shekhawat on the other hand has insisted on contesting the Lok Sabha elections and even questioned the candidacy of L K Advani for the PM post. He has got the backing of NCP, led by Sharad Pawar, for this.

For now, the question has been answered by spokesmen of both parties that there is no change in their PM candidates. However, as we get closer to the elections one can expect more such noises from within both the parties.

Who will be the pm does not make change because all current politician are indulge in corrupt practice. I am working hard to make people aware of politics. young Indian should take part in politics. but where should they go. they have limited option go to congress or BJP. but the corruption and bureaucracy will remain same. I thing a common man should stand and start fighting for his rights. most people keep shouting from outside. I think its time to stop shouting from out site and get in to politics. What experience has taught is till now, is that it is very difficult to predict who the next PM would be. Don’t you remember how Devegowda was pulled out of the hat in the 90’s. I agree with Avinash, the youth needs to become politically active and demand results for their votes. The youth of India needs to unite. We are an indomitable force. However I don’t think it’s possible for a common man to stand up and to start a party from scratch which will be able to hold a majority in the Parliament. We need to elect a leader right at the top who can get his party disciplined and in order. Someone who can bring out the best in others irrespective of what their backgrounds be. Take Lalu Prasad Yadav for eg. He is a completely different man now from his Bihar days. We may not like or agree with his past. However what he has accomplished with the loss making Railways, is highly praiseworthy. I think Omar Abdulla and Rahul Gandhi are great candidates who can lead our Young India forward. Leaders need Vision.

Definitely not rahul. His only ahievement is that he is the son of rajiv and sonia. What other credentials does he have? The 20 out of some 23 governors of india are congressmen. President of india is a congresswoman. Chief Election Commissioner for next elections will be a congressman. Chief Information Commissioner is a congressman. Most of the directors on boards of public sector enterprises are congress sympathisers, all of these people from president to directors rewarded for their loyalty to the family of Indira Gandhi. What will their attitude be? What kind of fairness and objectivity can we expect of them? Nobody asks. Even the BJP keeps quiet. This is the congress party, the ultimate master in manipulating indian democracy to its benefits and fooling the people consistently. How long is this to go on? And, the ultimate fraud on the people by this cursed party is to be taken forward by this rahul, who has not bothered to reveal where he is getting all the money that he is spending on his tours, travels,lifestyle, grand life. Can any indian youth relate to him? An indian youth can relate to A.R. Rehman, Viswanathan Anand, the soldier who lays down his life for the country, Dhoni, etc. NOT with this son of rajiv gandhi who lives and feeds on sycophancy. All scandals, all non-development, all eceonomic crises have been largely due to congress for the simple reason that they hardly have a single good plan or vision for the country. They just run the nation on a day to day basis, their prime concern being to loot and plunder and siphon off huge amounts of money. I strongly belive that if all the congressmen’s houses are raided, there will be enough money recovered to run the USA. Subbarami Reddy, Chandraswami, Satish Sharma (personal friend of rajiv), Jitendra Prasada, Pilot, Suresh kalmadi are ruthless looters of the nation who can each run the country all by themselves, that much money they have looted. For Heaven’s sake, please dont vote the congress. The alternative, BJP is not so good either, but nothing stinks like the congress, if it comes back to power, the looting spree will continue.

For Gandhi Dynasty to project Dr. Manmohan Singh as UPA’s PM candidate instead of Rahul Gandhi will be an advantage. If UPA wins Dr. Man Mohan Singh can be made to pass on the Prime Ministership to Rahul Gandhi after six month or 1 year on health grounds but if Rahul Gandhi is made the prim ministerial candidate UPA is bound to loose.
For BJP it is right time to project Mr. Narendra Modi as the PM candidate because people across the country admire him for his good governance. People from south new BJP only through Atalji and today they see in Mr. Narendra Modi the similar charisma. NDA coming to power with Mr. Advani as prime ministerial candidate seems to be a remote possibility.

NDA in the name of india shining spent crores of rupees for the projects of their kit and kin…
But i feel little corruption is accepable than the lack peace and security for all the people in the country.

I believe Dr. MAnmohan Sing is the best candidate to head this country for another 10 years. When he speaks he speaks for country, not for any political parties. I believe Rahul can be considered as a future PM candidate. But he has to continue doing what he is doing now. He has to show he is taking other promising youth leaders in Congress party. If he can dare to bring democracy into party then it will be a great thing for India. I believe he has it in him to do so. Still this country breaths the ideological oxygen of Congress. Congress party has to convince todays youth that while it honours the selfless contributions of Gandhi family, it still is a party which values people with selfless love for the country and they have the equal chance to rise to the top post. Rahul is working towards that while India is marching ahead in the safe hands of Dr. MAnmohan Singh and his team. Congress can revive itself by making its day to day work transparent to public. See, I am trying to be a member of Congress party, but I don’t have the easy access to do that. I tried to register in their party website, but I did not get any response from them. So they have to open new and easy access to party for youngsters. So that the beliefe of today’s youth in Congress can be channelised as agents of change through the recognition of Congress. Congress is a grand old party with large spread, but the spread is ineffective if it is not proactive. They have to reachout to people like me who has made the first move. The can bring todays youth on a common platform to solve some of the day to day problems in our communities. I hope Rahul along with his dynamic youth leaders can recognise these needs and react to them in most proactive way. It is not for Congress, it is for India.

I really feel LK Advani should be given a chance. His Political experience will be surely be of use as Vajpayee. NDA performance was far Better than UPA.NDA was the first government to show that India is an emerging power. We saw economic rise in NDA and its down fall in UPA.Highway project have gone to dogs in UPA rule, stopped Inter River linking, Banned POTA,indirectly encouraging terrorism.What all we saw in UPA rule is vote bank politics.Voting for third front is really dangerous as it will be unstable government.

Congress is the worst party to do anything. May be as said by one reader, who knows, the Congress high command may make Mohammed Azaruddin as next Prime Minister? He is 1000% right candidate for Congress PM post. He knows how to ditch India internationally and how to make money. Also he had already joined in COngress Party and the party also accepted. Right choice of Candidate for Right choice of Party. Well done Congress. Surely he will maintain Congress credentials of corruption without fail.

Some of the readers have mentioned above to vote for Congress and against about Sri. L.K. Advaniji. When Sri Advaniji was purposely involved in hawala case by Congress and so called secular parties, he said that he will not contest in any election until he clears black mark against him. After the court verdicts came in support of him and after completely releived from the framed case only, he contested in an election.
Where as, then Prime Minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was accused of Bofors corruption, not by BJP, but by Congress’s own candidate, Mr. V.P. Singh and due to this he lost in the next election and VP became Prime Minister. But till now, the case is on and no Congress party leader is concerned about this and in every election Congress candidates are contesting, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, without any shame.
I hope those Congress Congress supporters will accept this. Atleast let them wake-up now. Otherwise, no one can save them from their foolishness.

Mr. Manmohan Singh will speak about Country, but will do against the Countries welfare. A good man in a worst party, is our PM.
Somebody told for P. Chindambaram to become PM. When he was FM, he did many things through his tricks and looted publics money. When the share market went down, he himself and asked his friends to by the shares at a lower price and when they purchased, after two days he issued some supporting statement and market went up and he & his friends sold their share at a higher price. Again from next day market went down and they started purchasing at a lower rate.
One can ask, why other public should not do like this? But we are not deciding when the market has to go-up or down, to act accordinlgy. Ultimately general public lost their money by purchasing shares when it was going up and sold at the lower price and these politicians purchased at lower and sold at higher. You can notice that this is not happening when Mr. Manmohan Singh took over Finance Ministry.

Just sit in home and do not go for vote. Nothing is going to change. More reservations, more corruption with same thing. I think we need a good meritocratic government, which is not possible with democracy. In democracy people get bored of seeing same face everyday and they change the post by a person of same kind. Who cares about it. Whoever become PM, the country will be same. UPA and BJP can not do anything to that. We need a center of power which can govern country as a whole (like China)

I am reproducing here with my two predictions carried in THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS DAILY dated May 17 and June 7,1999.I think that the points related to Nehru family(Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi) are still relevant
NO 13 lucky for Atalji!

I think next Pm will be some robot as it is modern day and a puppet like Manmohan singh is outdated.
I and my family have always been congress supporters but slowly are realising that in the national interest we hv to look for other options.Because even after 50 yrs of congress rule if a movie on slums can get oscars it is only due to congress.
And about the leader,i just dont have even slightest of doubt that Mr.manmohan Singh has failed and failed miserably.And its not exactly Manmohan who has failed but the madam behind him.If Manmohan was doing wt madam was telling him to,then it means that madam has failed in ruling,so she’s a looser and thus will loose this election too.I hope in the tension of loosing she doesnt commit the all famous “Margaik” mistake which congress always commits.

we r blogging here but we can’t play the major role to elect the PM.this thing is only in hands of the rural people of india…..whatever we will discuss that’s baseless………70% of population of Indian voters are still voting on the base of community,cast not on development .our politicians are playing major role in that..

First of all I would like to tell I am neither congress agent nor BJP agent. TBF, if you search closely you get thousands of leaders around the country. What make sense if congress/BJP comes? They shared equally last 10 days. How can you come to conclusion who ruled well??? I agree Indian economy grow in last 10 years, but does those statistics says this govt is good enough to come? No, absolutely no!
But I appreciate the way congress economy leaders guided us in worst days of world economy? Do you say BJP have those leaders in their plate? I can say Absolutely no, but BJP have it’s style of leader ship you can see the style of working done by modi in gujarat.
I request to all the parties, please stop working for your parties come let’s join our hands to work for country?? Stop throwing stones to opponent. First of all, To all those who say Rahul gandhi sacrificed so much for us,some sycophants say he is youth icon. I suppose all are educated.One question from my side…Why would anyone who would be treated like a Prince here, Who would have everything at his disposal leave all this and live in US or somewhere abroad??Nobody would even care for him in abroad. I personally would not let Rahul ,Sonia or Manmohan or any congress politician to run my bath let alone run the country. An elderly BJP man is not ideal candidate but far better than all of Congress.I would like to see BJP separate from RSS altogether as RSS prefers those that toe the line rather than those capable of idependent thought. We need the young intellectual Hindus educated in India to join BJP and take over the party and set a nationalist democratic and modern agenda with someone as highly interlligent as myself and as good looking as Bipasha Basu as its leader.

India needs to become a mordernised nation. Everyone must drive in the correct tract on roads. To reduce accidents, Australian govt. planned a new policy and found that it worked. We must follow such policies.
Only computers must control traffic. Human traffic police could be currupt.
In every field Robots with no choice of influence or bribe should handle administration without partiality.
Even in education system, Melbourne schools use modern teaching technics like white boards provided to each class free of cost by the Govt.
If all such developments have to come to India, there is only one way.
The leader, who is not too old or not too young, educated and who can understand world policies of rich countries and poor countries, developed and underdeveloped countries, History and politics of all the world countries must become the next PM.

i really pity few people who talk about rahul gandhi in bad terms….
he is the youth icon of india…he has been democratically voted to be so by the liberal thinking indian youth…

I think this time people will not vote for congress and its alliances, because of somany problems like terrorism, price hike and unemployment and so on………
The opposition party BJP has good in some states but they don’t have many allies and they won’t get majarity.
meanwhile the regional parties are strenghened and dominated in somany big states like UP,AP,Tamilnadu,Orissa. Communist areas bengal, kerala,… .All these people dominate after post poll.

So there is no alternative for congress to stop BJP. finally they support third front.

At this current time, I think we should give candidates like Shashi Taroor, a chance and not go for Advani or Rahul Gandhi.

I like Manmohan Sing, is the best PM we can ever going to get! From many comments I have read here that congress corrupt and Indian people are very poor but I think most people are not taking into account that we are independent since just last 60 years and still today we are in G20 which is thing to be proud of. US is democratic nation since last 230 years now and they still have poor people, No Health service, No public transport like India so I guess our record is not too bad having constant problem with neighbouring country I think India did significantly well in this 60 years of independence and for that we must appreciate give congress.
Second important issue which we must remember is the future relies on globalisation and hence we must have to nurture multicultural rather than non secular. You can not get read of Indian Muslim/Christian/any other religion as they are part of Indian culture too(i m hindu myself by the ways) and we must respect that rather then being hypocrite/resist in this modern 21 century so no place for BJP/NDA at any cost unless we like to have Hindu way of talibanisation similar to Afghanistan / Pakistan.
So choice is clear to you all.

I beleive that Dr. Manmohan singh should continue as PM as he is the only PM who is an economist…Though he is not able to speak or open mouth he says everything by action…..Media has projected him wrongly that he is the puppet of Sonia…but that is’nt the case if we compare the economic statistics between the NDA and UPA government…I believe the Manmohan singh panel has three great economist and financial analyst pranab mukherjee and p. chidambaram… i believe that these people should remain in power because if you analyse past situations and politics they just raise the issue of economic growth and not of religion…I believe that they can bring a change in Indian politics….which NDA could not even think of …In the tenure of NDA no economic policies were changed which were laid by Dr. manmohan singh in early 90’s…..I beleive that Dr.Singh must be having something in him….that why Obama rightly said in the G20 summit that your prime minister is a great and intelligent man when asked by a reporter……

To pass a law disallowing people over a certain age to stand in election has been suggested this shows how undemocratic the thought proces of indian public is. ITS quite clear from 2 phases elections so far that out of 270 seats congress led UPA will win atleast 180 and BJP led NDA will win around 60 and 3rd front will win 30 as of now.
and in remaining 3 phases which will have 275 seats to be contested and its quite eveident that congress led UPA alliance will win 150 BJP led NDA will win 100 and 3rd front will win remaining 25 seats
final tally will be
UPA=330
NDA=160
3rd front=55

Rahul Gandhi should never be the prime minister of India. Just having a Gandhi name tag does not make anybody automatically eligible to become prime-minister.

I hope if congress come to power they can do better.
prime minister is the second issue over here. Till the last minutes we were not sure about minister in last time. but somehow Manmohan singh has managed everything. I think he can do well. There is the possibility for Rahul too. but i think he needs to wait some more time. Better to come in to ministry level first them come to PM.
How ever no one is going to think or plan to put down India. All their aim is to bring India on the TOP.
